Hi Saph
believe or not them babies would be safer with the larger koi but would have to battle for the food. When a fish has some infection, disease or just damage gold fish are notorious for picking at them especially if there is a little fungus on them so I dont mix for that reason. However in your case the little ones will thrive better with the goldies as they will get the benefit of the extra feed as because as we know goldfish wont be as boistrus at feeding time and they will be be in a better position to fatten up for the winter

Hi Saph
Slow Grown ! believe me its better. They dont mature to quick and therefore avoid the dreaded carp pox. If the water parameters are right and they are fed regularly believe me they will grow. Ignore the books, food and natural sun and daylight will develope any koi, after all the expected life span  a little patience in letting them grow will reap the rewards

people read the newer topics rarther then the older ones they have already read
we dont mind having ne topics to read and answer gives us something to do
so post as many questions/topics as you like
have a look for koi dealers in those areas they may be able to help you out
