Hi Saph

Sorry to hear about the goldie Angry Sorry
It would appear to me it was a heart attack. Appart from the obvious signs of mating the fish's colouration was perfect which indicates to me it was healthy before

he was fine before,
he always went silly a spawning time always looked bashed up always lost scales one year had to bring him into the tank as he really made himself ill,
but this time apart from the bruising and him looking white looking whiter the usual (his white was always creamy looking) nothing seemed amiss
he was a fairly old man 15yrs compaired to the younger ones and the youngesters have been wanting their go with the girls so hes had a lot of competion this year so you may be right andy he could have had an heart attack
